While comparing the social media performances of the top beauty brands of 2024 and their celebrities, it can be seen that the celebrities have a higher audience than their beauty brands. For example, Selena Gomez has 423 million followers on Instagram and 58,2 million followers on TikTok whereas her beauty brand Rare Beauty has 7,8 million followers on Instagram and 4,1 million followers on TikTok.
Both beauty brands and their celebrity founders have higher followings on Instagram than TikTok. Kylie Jenner has a 150% increase in Instagram followers compared to the followers in TikTok. Kylie Cosmetics has a 151% hike in followers on Instagram compared to TikTok followers. The follower count of Kim Kardashian’s TikTok profile is a 98% decrease from the Instagram follower count. SKKN BY KIM’s follower count on TikTok is a 95% decrease from Instagram followers. Even though the brands have the upper hand in the industry for having a celebrity owner, they do not leverage the celebrity’s followers or image. Jennifer Lopez’s Instagram follower count is a 198% increase of her beauty brand JLo Beauty follower count. Their TikTok followership has a difference of 198%. Hailey Beiber has 53,7 followers on Instagram and 13,9 million followers on TikTok. Her beauty brand rhode has 2,3 million and 1,1 million followers on Instagram and TikTok. But the exception here is Mille Bobby Brown's brand Florence by Mills which has 3,2 million followers on Instagram and 3,8 million on TikTok.
Celebrities with massive followings have beauty brands with higher engagement compared to other celebrities and their beauty brands. Rihanna has around 150 million followers on Instagram and 15,3 million followers on TikTok whereas her beauty brand Fenty Beauty has 13,10 million and 3 million followers on Instagram and TikTok respectively. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys has 27,5 million and 5,7 million followers on Instagram and TikTok, and her beauty brand Keys Soulcare has 210K and 48K followers on Instagram and TikTok.
Millie Bobby Brown and Gwyneth Paltrow don't hold a TikTok account but their beauty brands Florence by Mills and Goop are active on the platform.
