Italian luxury lingerie brand La Perla is all set to launch itself as a true “Made in Italy” label. Rumor has it that the brand will be undergoing a complete restructure, which would be for the second time, after the brand's acquisition by PH Partners in 2008.
The re-launching will see the brand's expansion in the retail sector, with an estimated investment of about 5 million euros.
La perla continues to expand in Asia, America and Eastern Europe, thereby, in a process of recovering its efficiency levels and thus accounting for the rising costs in Italy.
However, up to 300 of the 600 jobs at the factory in Bologna could be at threat, which could strongly harm the company’s quest to become a “Made in Italy” brand, especially, with the current total of 900 employees, altogether.
The brand's CEO, Tim Basher, while working to improve the brand’s international profitability, has also confirmed the news on the development of the brand's secondary line, La Perla Studio. With such a progression, the brand aims to offer its products via upto 160 more additional stores in the next three years.
