Intel Collaborates With Barneys New York, CFDA and Opening Ceremony For Wearable Technology

At the International Consumer Electronic Show (CES 2014) in Las Vegas, technology giant Intel has announced its strategic collaboration with luxury retailer Barneys New York, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and international design house and curator Opening Ceremony to bring smart wearable technology devices for the fashion industry in the coming years.

As part of the collaboration, Intel and its partner Opening Ceremony will be designing a smart bracelet concept based on Intel technology and Opening Ceremony design. The bracelet will be exhibited and sold at Barneys New York luxury department store.
During this first retail experience, Intel hopes to measure consumer's experiences and attitudes towards wearable technology.
While through other partnerships through CFDA, Intel aims to create a community for technology developers and fashion designers that can increase cooperation between technology and fashion by connecting with more than 400 leading fashion designers who are members of CFDA.
