Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s High Street Collection
Pambianco News recently reported that celebrity twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be launching a new collection to add to their array of brands and businesses. The two all-American girls, in collaboration with retailer Bik Bok from Scandinavia, will be designing fashion forward pieces at affordable prices.
Mary-Kate comments, “we feel the collection reflects our personal style and will connect with the Scandinavian girl.” Ashley follows this up, “we’ve enjoyed the design process with the Bik Bok team and are excited to visit Oslo and Stockholm to launch the first of three collections in August.”
The price range for this collection will come around 25 to 500 euros, depending on the piece.
Damien Hirst Skull Scarf for Alexander McQueen
Just yesterday, we reported an interesting collaboration between British luxury brand Alexander McQueen and artist Damien Hirst. Hirst, known for his works on dead animals, such as ‘The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living’, often incorporates the theme of death into his artwork.
Hirst, from England, is part of the ‘Young British Artists’, and is said to be currently the richest living artist in Britain.
The collaboration with McQueen has the artist designing limited-edition scarves to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the iconic Skull Scarf by McQueen. According to news reports, the central theme of the new collection still adheres to the ‘natural world’.
Jason Wu’s Make Up Collection for Lancôme
And on other news, American-based Taiwanese-Canadian fashion designer, Jason Wu, has been reported to be working on a cosmetics line with luxury beauty brand Lancome. According to news, the new collection will be launched on September in time for New York Fashion Week.
The limited edition collection includes products such as eye shadow, nail polish, lipstick, and mascara, and will be available at New York department stores’ Bergdorf Goodman and Nordstrom.
Isabel Marant and H&M
French label Isabel Marant was reported to have begun a collaboration with Swedish fast-fashion group H&M. On recent news, the fast fashion brand recently tweeted a photo of the designer wearing a piece from the new collection.
Said to be launched on November 14 this year, the collection will have a boho-chic theme. Marant says, “I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude.”
Superga and the Man Repeller
The Telegraph reports a new collaboration between fashion blogger Leandra Medine and Italian brand Superga. Medine’s blog entitled, The Man Repeller has been renowned in the fashion industry, and has followers worldwide.
According to news, the capsule collection includes sneakers both low and high-top, with a luxe feel. The blogger has incorporated her own sense of style by using material like velvet, and using shades of black, blue, green, white, and burgundy. Moreover, the collection includes a metallic boucle line, said to come in either gold or silver.
Medine comments, “partnering with Superga has been a real treat! I’ve been wearing the sneakers (care of my Italian mother) since I was 6 and so to try my hand at creating my own felt like a real privilege.”
The collection will be launched this month, and is available at Superga boutiques, Neiman Marcus, and online at ShopBop.
