DOXA was founded in 1889 in the heart of one of Switzerland's major and most inventive watch making areas, the canton (district) of Neuchatel's Jura Mountains. The idea of manufacturing a diver watch was extraordinary and challenging for one of the most traditional Swiss watch manufacturers, founded in 1889, well known for elegant dress watches made of solid white or yellow gold utilizing very reliable high grade movements. It was a challenge for DOXA to place a new product intended for professional divers. DOXA therefore decided to set new accents in the diver watch world by adding unique features to their diver watch series.
