The Betsey Johnson label (B.J. Vines) was formed in 1978, and after more than 30 years in the business, the iconic designer herself and her company namesake are still going strong. In August of 2007, Betsey Johnson and Co-Founder, Chantal Bacon (B.J. Vines) aligned with Castanea Partners, a Cambridge-based private equity firm forming Betsey Johnson LLC, as it is known today. Betsey Johnson apparel, shoes, footwear, handbags, belts, lingerie, legwear, jewelry, swimwear, timepieces, outerwear, and a signature fragrance, are distributed in 66 Betsey Johnson boutiques, as well as more than 2,000 specialty stores. Products are also stocked in better department stores worldwide including Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy's, Vakko (Turkey), Holt Renfrew (Canada), Galeries Lafayette (Dubai) as well as distribution in Japan. Since 2004, Betsey Johnson LLC has expanded its product offerings through more than a dozen licensing agreements. Current licensees include: Geneva Watch Group, B.Robinson Optical Corp., Leg Resource, Daniel M. Friedman & Associates, Titan Industries Inc., The Levy Group, Carol Hochman Designs, Haskell Jewels, and Lunada Bay Corp., and Inter Parfums. Betsey Johnson LLC will continue growing and expanding with plans to open 6-8 stores in 2010, doubling the retail chain to 100 stores operating in 22 states by the year 2012.Brand Details
