Profile

Originally from the Ural region of Russia, Olga Vilshenko received an early fashion education surrounded by quality craftsmanship, passed down through generations. Olga would watch her mother, who created beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces for her family, bypassing the swathe of austere shapes found in stores during the Communist routine.

Olga was always inspired by her mother’s talent, and the commitment to creating beauty within restraint stayed with her into adulthood. Olga later pursued her ambition by honing her self-taught skills at the Institute of Fashion and Art in Russia, eventually supplementing her study at London’s Istituto Marangoni.

Olga’s first collection for VILSHENKO was presented for Spring/Summer 2011, effortlessly fusing her eastern heritage with western silhouettes to create a distinctively modern, luxury label with a traditional folkloric twist. The brand has captured the attention of leading retailers, editorial platforms and style influencers across the globe.

Previously based in Moscow where she opened the first VILSHENKO boutique in Autumn 2014, Olga is now permanently based in London and designs from the brand’s atelier in West London.

May 2018 saw the launch of VILSHENKO.COM, the brand’s first e-commerce platform, as well as a new Resort-wear line VILSHENKO MORYE which means ‘the sea’ in Russian. Olga continues to oversee the London HQ as well as the Moscow atelier, bringing timeless styles while staying true to brand’s bohemian sensibilities
