Former creative director at ellesse heritage, Rovinj-born, Florence-educated designer Mauro Massarotto founded Sheriff & Cherry design studio in 2004. The studio is focused on product design, fashion consultancy and rebranding. Sheriff&Cherry list of clients and projects include ellesse Heritage, Startas, Ghetaldus Vintage, Lacoste and Studiostore. In 2010 Mauro Massarotto started to consult with an old optical factory in Croatia, founded in 1948 and still manufacturing opticals with great attention to craftsmanship. Seduced by their old-school appeal and vintage charm. This is when the Sheriff&Cherry sunglasses brand was born. Classic frames with a quirky twist, bold statements designs and stylish and unusual colour ways, all handmade and with 400-UV protected organic lenses. We make sunglasses to brighten peoples’ lives and make the world a more colorful place! Aptly described by Massarotto himself , Sheriff&Cherry’s SS13, as representing a mixture of ‘ice-cream, summer, the beach and rock-and-roll’, the specs came in a range of bright colours and bold designs.
