lisa perry is a dynamic new york based fashion, accessories and lifestyle brand. lisa started the business in late 2006 in response to the reaction she received to her personal vintage collection of couture fashion from the late 1960s and early 1970s. lisa’s vision was to create a modern and timeless collection inspired by this influential era. her design philosophy is led by a unique aesthetic composed of clean lines, geometric shapes, bold colors and minimalism. lisa’s love of fashion and interiors blossomed during her upbringing in chicago. surrounded by great design, intense color and exquisite art, lisa quickly developed her eye for style. her mother, bacine, introduced her to effortless chic silhouettes such as the caftan, as her cool beatnik father, leonard, created drip paintings in the basement of their home. bacine and leonard’s home was decorated with sixties modernist essentials: beautiful saarinen and eames furniture and marimekko fabrics. in addition, the family owned a successful textile company which also supported the development of lisa’s sense of style. she later attended the fashion institute of technology in new york city, where she immersed herself in studies of textiles, color theory, as well as fashion and art. lisa first began designing clothing in october 2006. the first sales were out of her second-floor loft on west broadway in soho, where lisa produced custom dresses for friends and acquaintances with a local couturier. in spring 2007, lisa launched her wholesale business with a one-year exclusive at jeffrey new york, in manhattan’s meatpacking district. in 2008, lisa perry’s wholesale distribution expanded to bergdorf goodman, bloomingdale’s, nordstrom, and harrod’s in london. today, lisa has grown her business into a lifestyle brand which includes clothing, accessories, children’s wear, shoes and home products as well as special edition pieces using works by artists roy lichtenstein and andy warhol. the flagship store is located on madison avenue in new york city, which has now also become home to the lisa perry design studio.Brand Details
