As an outsider in the jewellery community, Fabio Govoni has devoted himself a lot in overcoming his gap in background and technique with the Italian leading manufacturers at the birth of his company (in 1980). He has stubbornly learned the fundamentals of the goldsmith’s art, namely that know-how people can breathe early from birth in the historical gold-jewellery districts. As a full-blooded native of Cento, Govoni has worked on the passion, built a workshop, and even developed a personal way of treating the precious metal: a way that while being determined is gentle. Fabio Govoni has cultivated the humility to learn from goldsmith masters, the desire to discover their secrets and emulate them by adding his own originality. Although he made beautiful things in his workshop, it was hard to approach customers. Now, his origin is no longer a handicap, customers know Govoni and his lines. And they appreciate both of them as well.What does it mean to make jewellery out of the circuit of the great Italian goldsmith districts? Imagine you were born neither in Vicenza, nor in Valenza, nor in Arezzo: in short, you are short of the milieu i.e. the natural background where attitudes become job.
