Profile

In 1881,Antonio Cerruti first founded the family-run weaving workshop in Biella, Italy.

In 1950, at the age of 20, Nino Cerruti took over the company founded by his grandfather and began to develop and update its core activity of textile manufacture and extended it to include garment production. The company’s first ready-to-wear collection for men was presented in 1957.

In 1967, the luxury ready-to-wear line for men, Cerruti 1881, was launched together with the eponymous boutique and company headquarters, all found a home in the Place de la Madeleine, Paris, while the textiles continued to be developed and manufactured in Italy.

Over the decades, Cerruti has, in effect, demonstrated that modern design excellence can not only be inspired and desirable, but also sumptuous and innovative.
