Born with fashion in his blood, Camillo Bona went to a Classical High School and subsequently attended the University to study Art History. After some years' working in the discipline, he steered definitively towards fashion design, which has always represented his prime interest. In 1983 he graduated at the Accademia di Alta Moda Koefia, but was already submitting designs to his clientele, on a regular basis, a year before graduation, exhibiting two collections a year and winning considerable critical acclaims. Camillo Bona's only collaboration has been with the Sorelle Fonatana Couturiers; it proved a valuable and fruitful experience, in the course of which he was entrusted with designing the formal-wear range for young people. At last, in 1995, the haute couture adventure began, revealing him as a designer of simple and refined dress-styles, who exalts the female figure and the surrounding environment. Some of his collections are inspired by his academic training in the Arts, based on the iconography of Caravaggio, of the Baroque period and of the Byzantine mosaics. Camillo Bona has exhibited his collections at innumerable Italian fashion shows, demonstrating all the elegance and refinement of his creations.
