Luxury and Premium Brands Competing for Traveling Shoppers

The continuous growth of Asian tourists, keeps embracing the race among the luxury and premium brands to open their stores at outlets, airports and cruise ships.

According to a market study conducted by Generation Research, the revenues from travel retail including sales on airplanes is up by 9.4 percent to 55.8 billion euros in 2012. Some of the brands winning this competition are Louis Vuitton , Gucci, L'Oreal Paris, Guerlain (owned also by the LVMH Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton group) among many others.

Perfume and beauty represents the largest product category for travel retail with 28 percent of the market, according to the previously mentioned report.
