Alessandro Oteri started designing to give a professional expression to a passion that naturally led him to study the most passionate of accessories.

It all happened as if by chance: Oteri had just come from Liguria, and worked in an important factory in Vigevano, where he met expert craftsmen and great masters who represented the historic memory of a fascinating profession in their stories and testimony.

In 2004 Alessandro Oteri decided to turn his career around and attempt to create his own designs. The fundamental idea was clear and precise, based on simple lines, which evolved directly out of tradition, evocative color combinations and materials that were openly contemporary and constant citations of his native land, the Gulf of Tigullio.

One example of this is “Onda”, the pump that has come to symbolize the brand, reproducing the skyline traced by the promontory of Mount Portofino against the sky on the side and the shape of the town’s famous piazza on the top, with a deep blue sole recalling its blue sea.

The world Alessandro Oteri has built through his collections of women’s shoes and luxury accessories is based on a vision of fashion as an eternal expression of beauty that, while remaining an emblem of classicism, is always open to dialogue with contemporary trends.

What underlines Alessandro Oteri’s project is the research and craftsmanship typical of the “custom-made”: the line Anthology, seasonally declined in the F/W and S/S collections, and the policy of exclusiveness, make a unique combination between the desire for customization and the use of superior materials, often available in limited edition.

The production totally handmade by skilled craftspeople and the study of the art of shoemaking are the keys imperatively characterizing Alessandro Oteri’s shoes; his design, exalted by materials made exclusively in Italy from the most prestigious tanneries and textiles manufacturers, represents the new identity of the Italian-made today.

Alessandro Oteri’s mission has always been offering unique, exclusive products in a philosophical return to the elegance of the atelier.

His philosophy centers on the creation of a luxury product of handcrafted quality, a couture-inspired style taking us back to the privilege of wearing shoes that are custom made by hand.

With the opening of the brand’s first boutique-atelier in Via Borgospesso, in the Milan Luxury District, Alessandro Oteri continued its progress, establishing an identity that places it somewhere between Italian luxury shoemaker and avant-garde designer.
