In 2008 the Christopher Ræburn label was launched. Inspired by the challenge of creating ethically-aware men’s and womenswear, Christopher Ræburn has become known for his utilisation of re-appropriated military fabrics to create garments that are functional, intelligent and meticulously crafted. Ræburn’s collections are highlighted for their intelligent design, high quality and extreme attention to detail. A graduate from London’s prestigious Royal College of Art in 2006, Ræburn gained experience at fashion houses in London before founding a studio and beginning his pioneering work on the future of ethical design. Hand-picked for the ‘Camouflage’ exhibition at London’s Imperial War Museum and featured in Hywel Davies’ publication ‘100 New Designers’, Ræburn capped off 2008 with his first collection showcase during Design Week, a capsule range of reversible garments entitled ‘Inverted’. 2009 saw Raeburn showcase menswear in Paris, earn an award from the International Ethical Fashion Forum, and garner support from Esthetica, enabling him to show at London Fashion Week that September. Staunchly British, all Ræburn garments are proudly ‘Remade in England’ and produced in East London. Ræburn’s unique production process has been recognized with accolades including the International Ethical Fashion Forum’s Innovation competition, a prize that secured him his first place at London Fashion Week for Autumn / Winter 2009 and his first product order from Browns Focus. The first designer to be awarded both NEWGEN mens and womenswear sponsorship in the same season, Ræburn has created incredible and original installations at every London Fashion Week. The visually stunning Spring/Summer 2011 ‘Dazzle’ presentation included the original parachute inspirations, and the innovative Autumn/Winter 2011 ‘Blast’ presentation took place at the disused Aldwych tube station in central London. Spring / Summer 2012's presentation at the Museum of London was described by Vogue.com as "surely one of the most innovative" and marked the launch of Ræburn's expansion into new product categories, followed by the first separate showing of womenswear for Autumn / Winter 2012. With a British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent Menswear, a Moncler collaboration to launch and an ongoing relationship with Victorinox, 2012 is set to be another year of outstanding successes for Christopher Ræburn. Christopher Ræburn mens and womenswear is stocked in stores including Harvey Nichols and Liberty in the UK; and worldwide in stores including United Arrow, Isetan, 10 Corso Como and Ikram.Brand Details
